(Original Source: https://online2pdf.com/features )
All conversions are done online - no setup is required! The complete process takes only a short time and is based on a simple user interface.
Altogether, this online service is offering 10 useful main features, which are available in one single user interface, so that you can combine them regaring to your needs:

Conversion of single files

All standard formats are supported and can be converted to PDF. The maximum file size is 50 MB.
The following file formats can be converted to PDF:
Documents: pdf, xps, oxps, ps, rtf, txt
Images: jpg, gif, png, bmp, tif, mdi
MS Office:
Word - doc, docx, docm, dot, dotx, dotm, wps
Excel - xls, xlsx, xlsm, xlsb, xlt, xltx, xltm
PowerPoint - ppt, pps, pptx, ppsx, pptm, ppsm, pot, potx, potm
Publisher - pub
OpenDocument: odt, ods, odp, odg, odi, odm, odc, odf
Websites: as XPS files necessary, see instructions

Convert several files separately at the same time:

To convert multiple files individually and at the same time, you have to choose the option 'Convert files separately' after you have selected the files. As a result you get a ZIP archive, which contains all the converted PDF files. If you do not choose this option, the files are still converted, but the files are merged and you get only one single PDF file as output.

Add multiple files at the same time:

In modern browsers (like Internet Explorer 10, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 3) it is possible to select several files in the same file dialog window by pressing the Ctrl key. As a result, many files can be added fast and easily, without adding each file separately.

Conversion from PDF to Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other formats

PDF files can be converted to MS Office files, for example to Word, Excel, Powerpoint and even to RTF (Rich-Text-Format). After the conversion, you can open the files with your Microsoft Office and edit them easily. The maximum file size is 50 MB.
You can also select several PDF files at the same time. By default, all files are merged and afterwards they are converted to the selected output format. If you want to convert each file separately, then you have to choose the option 'Convert files separately' (see screenshot in last section).

PDF to image files (.jpg)

If you need just image files of your PDF document, for example if the PDF file contains photos and you would like to save them as normal image files, then just select this output format. After the conversion you will get an ZIP archive which contains a separate image for each page in the PDF document.

Merge files

Up to 20 files can be merged together to one single PDF file. It doesn't matter whether you use existing PDF files or files which have to be converted first.
All files are merged in the same order, in which you have selected the files.
The filename of the final PDF file will be taken over from the first selected file automatically.

Mix pages of files alternately

If you select 2 scanned documents (PDF, XPS, TIFF), you are able to merge them in a nested way. This means that the pages of both documents are taken alternately. This makes sense if you scanned your pages double-sided and one document contains only the front sides and the other one only the back sides.

Arrange files:

The new and improved user interface and file selection allows you to arrange your added files by simple Drag&Drop. Furthermore, added files can be deleted easily, without having to start fresh from the beginning.

Add multiple files at the same time:

In modern browsers (like Internet Explorer 10, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 3) it is possible to select several files in the same file dialog window by pressing the Ctrl key. As a result, many files can be added fast and easily, without adding each file separately.

Page composition: select or rearrange pages and split PDF files

This feature allows you to arrange and customize the pages of your document or only select specific pages. Choose a file, which consists of several pages (e.g. PDF, Word, Powerpoint) and afterwards click the red button with the scissor on it, which is located on the right side of the file.

By entering the page numbers in this text field, you are able to define the pages, which should be imported into the final PDF document. The order of the page numbers in this text field determines the real sequence in the produced PDF file. In this way, you are able to arrange and customize the pages of your document according to your wishes.
It is possible to select only single pages or even whole page ranges.
Here are some examples:
Purpose:
Notation:
Pages 1, 2, 3 and 4
1,2,3,4 OR 1-4
Pages 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9 and 10
1-3, 6, 8-10
Pages 3 until the end
3-
Pages 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (reverse pages from 5 to 1 !)
5,4,3,2,1 OR 5-1
Split file: PDF with page 1-3 and PDF with page 4 until end of file
(separation between page 3 und 4)
1-3 | 4-
Split file: PDF with page 2-4 and PDF with page 7-9
(only a subset is used)
2-4 | 7-9
Split file: PDF with page 1, PDF with page 2-5, PDF with page 7 and 9
(only a subset is used)
1 | 2-5 | 7,9

Split PDF file (user-defined):

You can split your PDF file into several parts. Just enter your needed file parts into the textfield for the page composition - separate each part with a vertical line. For example, 1-3 | 4-5 results in a ZIP archive, containing two PDF files, the first contains the pages 1-2, the second contains the pages 4-5.
You can also use the button 'split file' to insert the vertical line.

Create a new PDF for each page:

If you want to convert your PDF file to single-page-files, just change the mode to 'Create new PDF for each page' after selecting your file. After the conversion you will get an ZIP archive, containing PDF files consisting of only one single page.

Insert a PDF document inside another PDF document:

With the help of the page composition you can also insert pages from a PDF document into another PDF.
A small example: You have a document A with 3 pages and you want to insert a document B between the pages 2 and 3 of document A.
First, choose document A and enter '1-2' into the textfield.
Afterwards choose document B (all pages should be inserted, that's why leave the textfield empty).
Finally, choose document A once again, but this time select only page 3.
After the conversion you get a document containing: A (page 1,2), B (all), A (page 3)

Remove existing PDF protection: remove password and unlock PDF

In case the uploaded PDF file has an authentication protection (printing, copying and/or editing are locked), then this protection will be removed automatically and the PDF file will be unlocked! No password is required for this process. This feature acts as fast 'PDF Unlock Tool'.

Remove read protection and password for opening the file:

In case the PDF document is read protected and requires a password for opening, then you need to know and enter the correct password. Otherwise the encrpyted PDF document cannot be read and unlocked.
Choose the corresponding PDF document and click on the dark grey button with the golden lock on it, which is located on the right side of the selected file. Now you are able to enter the password in the appearing text field.
The read protection will be removed while conversion.
Tip: If you want to unlock multiple files at the same time having the same password, you have to enter the password only for the first file. All following files will be unlocked automatically too.

Change the password:

If you want to change the password for opening the PDF document, you have to enter the (old) password as mentioned above. Additionally you have to set the new password by clicking on 'Protection' below the file selection. There you can enter the new password by enabling the field called 'Create password for opening'.

Set or customize the PDF page layout

Multiple pages on one single PDF page:

If you would like to have multiple pages on a PDF page, then you can set this option at the preferences called "Layout". This way you can set up to 9 pages for a PDF page. This makes sense with presentation slides for example.
You can also set the page size, orientation and the inner and outer margin.

Note: When you are converting only image files, the "Layout" settings are not avaiable because image files have advanced settings at the tab called Image-to-PDF! There you can find the appropriate settings for the number of images per page.

Customize the layout of already existing documents:

Additonally, you can change the layout of existing documents, for example from A3 to A4. You can set the page margin, orientation, page size and the content size according to your needs.
Just select "1 page - using customized layout" for the "Pages per PDF page" dropdown option. Afterwards you will get more options regarding the customized layout.

You can set your own preferred preferences when you convert your files:
  • Compression: see Compression.
  • View: for example the zoom level and the page layout, which should be used when opening the PDF file (however, these adjustments can be changed in the PDF reader additionally). Also, you can set whether bookmarks should be retained, hidden or deleted completely.
  • Image-to-PDF: In case you are converting image files (like jpg, gif, png, bmp, tif) you can define the page layout, the number of images per page, the minimum page margin and the size of the image.
  • Protection: like the setup of an authentication protection for the PDF in order to lock some user actions (print, copy, edit) or to create a read protection (password for opening)
  • Header / footer: see Header / Footer
  • Excel: Define the decimal separator for the conversion from Excel to PDF and from PDF to Excel.
  • Layout: see Page layout
You can find the preferences below the file selection:
All preferences are already set to standard values, which should provide best results.
